In 2008, local children's author Diana Tuorto
released two middle-grade novels told from a horse's point of view.
Proceeds have gone on to benefit various animal rescues and handicapped
riding centers. Beginning in 2009, Diana has generously added Safe
Haven Rabbit Rescue to her list of rescues who could benefit.
Luck of the Draw ($15) is the story of an
unsuccessful racehorse searching for his life's purpose, and
Janie's New Legs ($12) chronicles a
special friendship between a paralyzed girl and a pony saved from neglect.
