Dickens Dickens, named after the author Charles Dickens who wrote the classic novel “A Christmas Carol” is a wonderfully laid back and magical sort of rabbit. He was actually one of 10 baby "stowaways" when we rescued their Momma Nora who gave birth just 7 days after rescue (May 21, 2007). Dickens had been adopted, but due to recent sad circumstances his owner could no longer keep him in these tough economic times and had to surrender him back to the care of our rescue.
What’s extremely unique about Dickens is that he looks like a wild rabbit, except he is bigger. He is a great eater, loving his salads and hay and especially his morning banana slice. He is a little more than 8 lbs. right now, but with proper diet and exercise he will slim down and lose some weight.
His fur, with the rich brown colors of nature like that of a wild rabbit, also reminds us of a big teddy bear; because when you pick him up and hold him he’s just like that! Like most rabbits, Dickens truly prefers to explore around on the floor and is a little uneasy about being picked up, but does love to get pets and will come over to you when you call his name and say “pet”.
Not quite sure why he’s back with us right now, Dickens needs a forever loving home with lots of care and compassion. Will you come see this amazingly wonderful bunny?
