Buttons We think you will agree this tiny little girl is as cute as a Button! Hence her name :)) Sadly, her story is not cute at all!! Buttons was found abandoned at a park in November of 2010. Left in a cage filled with birdseed, Buttons had a very obvious dental problem that required immediate and on-going treatment. Whoever left her there, cruelly did a very dangerous thing leaving her out there in the winter's cold. Luckily, she was found by passersby who took her to the local animal shelter and into safe hands. Like many of the tiny dwarfs, Buttons front teeth (incisors) were misaligned and, if not properly cared for, continue to grow making eating very difficult if not impossible. Buttons was taken into the Safe Haven foster program on Nov. 6, 2010. Her incisors required trims every three weeks, so once she was eating well and recovered from her spay, it was decided that removing them completely would be the best for her. Buttons underwent incisors extraction surgery and we are happy to report that she did very well (also had a broken molar removed) and is now back to eating normally. But with her molars also being misaligned, Buttons will require on-going molar trims to keep her teeth in shape. Buttons is a very sweet little girl despite all she has been through and is looking forward to being adopted. She is a tiny girl at just 2.5 lbs. Active and friendly, Buttons is a great eater who is looking for parents who would not mind chopping up her greens for her! She is a cutie pie! |
