Gigi and Rocky were Mom and Son. Bonded before they came to us and very happy together. Gigi took good care of Rocky, keeping him clean and staying by his side. Rocky needed extra help because he had Max Factor syndrome. He was blind, very small and could not use his back legs. which were contorted and dragged behind him. He was very special.
Gigi was fun. Liked to binky and stare out the window or hide under a chair. She protected Rocky all the time except when she needed some "mom-time" when she would go out of his reach and relax for a while. She liked being picked up and enjoyed playing with her humans. She didn't care much for the other rabbits in the house - she only had eyes for Rocky.
Rocky was the most snuggly, loving bunny in the our world. He sat for belly pets and liked to be wrapped in a small pink fleece and sit in my arms outside in the shade. He would lift his head to get the smells in the air and fall asleep in my arms. He kept his eye on his mama and slept next to her, real close. He ate well, moved around the house like a champ and could throw his cups as good as the next guy. He had a tough existence with his handicaps but you would never know. He seemed to enjoy life and all the attention he got.
Unfortunately Gigi went over the rainbow bridge due to an unsuccessful surgery and Rocky spent the rest of his life alone with his three stuffies. Pink Mama, Smidge the dog with the battery operated heartbeat and Mr. Narwahl. He slept between them and on them and was never lonely. I held him several times a day so he could hear my heartbeat. He'd put his head next to my heart and relax so completely.
Despite his many visits to the vet. He was always calm and everyone loved him. Cries of "Rocky's here" from the vet staff made us know he was loved there too.
We miss Gigi and Rocky and keep their picture on our wall, along with the much loved rabbits in our family.

Be free Rocky and Gigi.
Run Rocky, run.
Forever in our hearts.
Love Mommy and Daddy
